What is Ecodriving?

You have probably heard about the term Ecodriving before. This quote below is taken from the website ecodrive.org, and describes the very essence of Ecodriving:

“Ecodriving is a term used to describe energy efficient use of vehicles. It is a great and easy way to reduce fuel consumption from road transport so that less fuel is used to travel the same distance.”

Ecodriving is certainly very good and can save you both money and emissions.

Climate Speed is in a way both a simplified and extended form of Ecodriving.

  1. It is simplified – driving in Climate Speed will give you a substantially lower fuel consumption, without knowing much about Ecodriving.
  2. It is extended – if you use Ecodriving skills and combine them with Climate Speed, it will maximize your eco-effectiveness.

There are many educational programs all over the world about Ecodriving. Here are a few links to begin with.

A video from “Which?” with very basic tips.

Wikipedia gives us a more full picture of Ecodriving, but it is also, naturally, a bit more complicated.
